Camper requirements

To ensure the best learning experience possible, we do ask that each camper meet the following requirements

  • 3yr experience at high school or college
  • Knowledge and basics of 3-person mechanics
  • Ability to officiate 5-6 games over three days

The number of campers will be kept to a minimum to provide a quality instruction environment

J.T. Orr is in his 6th season as an NBA official.  Previously, J.T. worked 5 years in the NBA D-League and was an NCAA referee in the Pac 12, Big West and West Coast Conference.

MP Malo - FIBA Official

Maripier Malo has been a FIBA official since 2011. She has attended the Olympic Qualification, AfroBasket, and U19 World Championships.  MP is an active U Sports official and worked the Gold Medal game in the 2017 Women's National Championship.

ModernPro training director Michael Weiland is a current FIBA official. He has attended multiple international events including 2014 World Cup, Olympic Qualifiers and FIBA America Championships.  As a U Sports official he has attended the National Championships including the gold medal game in 2017.

Event Schedule

(May be subject to change)

 

Friday May 19

ReGISTRATION 9AM

Camp begins at 9:30AM 

Seminar sessions 10AM - 4pm

Games 5pm - 9pm

(Each official will work a minimum of one game the first evening)

 

Saturday May 20

Games 10:30am - 7pm

Social event 8pm

 

Sunday May 21

GAMES 10:30am - 7pm

(Camp will conclude for most campers by 5PM)

 

Officials will work approximately 5-6 games over three days.  Campers will see a variety of instructors and work with different crews.  The games will be videotaped on select courts.  Each official will receive a minimum of 1 game with a complete video breakdown.

Campers will receive an agenda, game schedule, seminar list, ModernPro Fox40 whistle, and ModernPro black shorts. Game uniform will be striped shirt, black shorts, black shoes.
